<\/a><\/p>\n1. \u00a0The TV show Dallas<\/strong> premiered in 1978. \u00a0A few months later, I was diagnosed with T1D. \u00a0Yay the 70s!<\/p>\n 2. \u00a0Who shot JR?<\/em> Was a cliffhanger\u00a0which became a\u00a0pop culture phenomenon<\/strong>. \u00a0The episode where the shooter was revealed was the second highest rated prime telecast ever (it was Sue Ellen’s sister who revealed she was pregnant with JR’s child and used that to keep herself out of prison). \u00a0During the time this episode aired, I too was taking shots (well of insulin… no bullets were involved). \u00a0Shots<\/strong>!<\/p>\n 3. \u00a0Season 9 of Dallas was revealed to be a dream sequence of Pamela Ewing’s (she thought Bobby died. \u00a0It was awful. \u00a0When she “woke-up” the next season, she freaked when she found him taking a shower). \u00a0Bobby’s “return” (he left for a season but was persuaded to come back due to declining ratings) effectively eliminated everything from the previous season. \u00a0I wish T1D was a just a\u00a0dream, but alas, my dream is to be part of The CURE, and eliminate T1D. \u00a0On a side note, I’m a huge fan of long showers too!<\/p>\n 4. \u00a0Dallas won 4 Emmy awards. \u00a0I’ve won 4\u00a0Best of the Betes Blogs (so close to an Emmy… if only the blog were a TV show).<\/p>\n 5. \u00a0Sue Ellen was a former Miss Texas. \u00a0Sierra Sandison is a fellow T1D and a current Miss Idaho (this part will make sense in a minute).<\/p>\n 6. \u00a0Dallas was know for ending every season with a cliff hanger. \u00a0Diabetes is a series of ups and downs too (especially with blood glucose levels)<\/p>\n 7\u00a0.
