Sunday. \u00a0Back on Pi\u00f1ata Bike. \u00a0Across Manhattan. up the West Side, Over the George Washington Bridge\u00a0to 9W. \u00a0Just me, Pi\u00f1ata and a ride coach. \u00a0For months, I have wanted to take photos on the George Washington Bridge while I pedal along. \u00a0Finally did it. \u00a0Don’t worry, I was wearing a parachute.<\/p>\n

Silly Rabbits, there\u00a0are\u00a0no parachutes, one adventure at a time\u00a0kiddos.<\/p>\n

The phrase on this photo bugs me because of the grammar. \u00a0Ending a sentence with a preposition? \u00a0What the what?!?! \u00a0But, the saying is true to me, and applies to so many things. \u00a0Endless.<\/p>\n

I didn’t have a great ride on Sunday. \u00a0I rode slower than I envisioned. \u00a0I struggled on a route I sort of already know. \u00a0It was a gorgeous early morning, and I wasn’t riding strong. \u00a0There was so much road kill on 9W. \u00a0A lot. \u00a0I kept running over very flattened, furry things. \u00a0Oh man. \u00a0Sometimes I tried to imagine I just ran over a very dirty Barbie fur coat. \u00a0I wasn’t feeling great. \u00a0Blood glucose ran pretty well and I was drinking my electrolytes. \u00a0As I lagged behind the coach, I looked up a hill and was stunned. \u00a0There was a deer. \u00a0A fawn. \u00a0In the shoulder of the road, right in the path. \u00a0I yelped to the coach (yelping is a sort of description of a really weird non yell noise that I made). \u00a0Cars sped by. \u00a0The fawn jumped into the brush and there were two baby deer. \u00a0The ride coach passed the deer. \u00a0I sped up, a little scared the deer would jump into the road and tackle me (another bizarre bike adventure? Please don’t tackle me deer). \u00a0As I got closer, all 3 just stared at me. \u00a0The fawn had large scars on her back. \u00a0She clearly didn’t have it easy. \u00a0For some reason I said in a low voice, “You guys need to move over. \u00a0Go.” \u00a0And I waved my arm. \u00a0They stayed put in the brush. \u00a0Apparently even deer don’t listen to me. \u00a0Oh, dear (errrr deer).<\/p>\n

I didn’t ride as far as planned. \u00a0I was the reason we turned around early (I hate that). \u00a0I had a MUCH better ride back (wind on my back helped) and I got the\u00a0coach to talk to me (I actually said “tell me a story”. \u00a0When I’m not feeling 100%, I find chatter an awesome distraction). \u00a0I ended up riding 46.5 miles. \u00a0Not great (for me) but acceptable.<\/p>\n

Obstacle are placed in our way to see if WHAT\u00a0we want, is worth fighting for.<\/p>\n

I want to help cure diabetes. \u00a0I want to push new technologies forward. \u00a0I want to use my voice, my time, my life, my experience to make a difference in this diabetes game. \u00a0I’m gearing up with a new plan. \u00a0My goal didn’t end in Burlington. \u00a0Here’s where to help: RIGHT HERE<\/a><\/strong> , or you can physically push me along (I’m really not kidding)… I’ll let you know the route!<\/p>\n
