\"LUCKY<\/a>I pass by this patch of sidewalk almost everyday. \u00a0I noticed it again as I rushed home from the gym this morning.<\/p>\n

12<\/strong><\/p>\n

12 is my favorite number. \u00a012 is my “lucky” number. \u00a0Alecia’s Stem Cells was founded 12 years ago. \u00a02012 wasn’t quite what I thought it would be. \u00a0There’s gotta a be a BIGGER 12<\/strong> out there. \u00a0Please<\/strong>, please let there be a bigger 12 out there.<\/p>\n

I received some horrible news from a friend over the weekend. \u00a0My Dad hugged me and I just started sobbing. \u00a0I believe that is very much a Dad\/daughter thing. \u00a0Hug from Dad = tears from me. \u00a0Life has thrown me a slew of challenges, all in a row lately. \u00a0My Dad kept whispering in my ear, “It doesn’t make sense right now, but there is a plan for you. \u00a0Just remember, there is a plan for you. \u00a0It’s just a different path.” \u00a0There was some God stuff thrown in there too but that’s between me and Dad and well, God.<\/p>\n

I was with the friend with the horrible news last evening (that is a terrible description by the way). \u00a0There were some tears. \u00a0We discussed many things. \u00a0She’s always supported my diabetes and JDRF projects. \u00a0I told her about the JDRF Walk Kick-Off\/ Research Update I’d attended on Wednesday night. \u00a0I told her about JDRF’s encapsulation program (or at least what I understood of it) and all the things I learned last week. \u00a0I told her about how I felt inspired, a renewed sense of hope, again. \u00a0I told her about my friend who’s part of JDRF’s Voices Council and how she recently shared with me that she too felt inspired. \u00a0At the end of our meal, I think I’d not only given her a pep talk, but I’d also given myself one. \u00a0She kept telling me how much I inspire her. \u00a0Talking with her really helped inspire me too. \u00a0Sometimes, I think the energy you give off, really does come back to you. \u00a0I got the most positive e-mail from her first thing this morning. \u00a0It felt like a hug.<\/p>\n

LUCKY 12<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I’ve gotta a lot of work to do.<\/p>\n

The fundraising all goes to the same place although we seem to be in some sort of competition. \u00a0This is the photo he put on Facebook last night. \u00a0Yes, that is me. \u00a0No, that is not my quote. \u00a0If this quote raises funding for research, then yes, that is EXACTLY what I said EXCEPT, I definitely didn’t call anyone Mr. Strahan*.<\/p>\n
