Robots for my Robot Parts

Please note: I’ve never met a sequin or piece of glitter I didn’t like.

You MAY have noticed, I have gotten VERY into decorating my Dexcom.  When it’s starting to look fuzzy around the edges, I go into fancify mode (yeah I made that up).  IV300 works best on top of the stickers (keeps ’em on) and I need it anyway to help my Dex last a few more days.

Yep, that’s right.  Pink ruffle dress and oh, wait, what’s that there?  Looks like a Dexcom site.  But there’s something on it.  A little glittery?  A little shiny?

So yep, here are some robots, you know, to go with my robot parts (of course). I am only responding to the name Mrs. Roboto today (or until it’s time for some new decorations).

I have entirely too much fun with this.

  1. domo arrigato Mr. Roboto..how do you get things on the back of your arm? I can barely SEE the back of my arm, let alone insert this thing!! and i love the ruffles///

  2. Do you trim your adhesive patch? Mine are always a perfect oval and yours seem to have more of a straight edge on the ends. Just curious if you get a different sensor than I do.

    • Hi Alan,
I do trim them. I don’t decorate them until the edges get fuzzy & they look like they are coming off. I use IV3000 (with a square cut out for the transmitter) when the Dex is really starting to come off. The Dexcom tends to peel off me most at the rounded part of the oval. I trim whatever is “off” at the top and bottom before I place the IV3000 on top. The shape of the Dex is a little too big for the IV3000 so this really helps it fit/stick better. I used to trim the sides if they were peeling off but found I need that surface area under the IV3000 to keep it all together.

Once all that happens, decorating is on!

FYI the robot stickers only made it a day. Boo hoo.
